Erasmus+ Wild Quest Denmark

Wild Quest ist ein einwöchiges Erasmus+ Seminar (30. September – 7.

“The times are urgent: let’s slow down” – Bayo Akomolafe

Our world is unravelling. It can be overwhelming to find out what is mine to do, how do I create meaningful change – and for those who do find a place to contribute with passion, we so often see burnout. Many young people have such a drive – but this is not a sprint, it is a life long journey. How do we open ourselves to be held by the earth, while doing what we can to change the course of things? To be co-conspirers with the living world, remembering that we too are nature, and perhaps realising that trying to ‘solve’ everything from our exclusively ‘human’ perspective is exactly what is creating the problems in the first place…

The Crossing

Every journey into something new begins with crossing a threshold: leaving behind the familiar, meeting people you’ve never met. Walking unknown paths. Perhaps sleeping beneath wide skies, sharing meals around a fire. Perhaps laughing and singing with strangers who quickly become friends.

Somewhere between the forest, the lake, the fire, and the conversations, something shifts.

You begin to remember who you are when nobody expects you to be anything.

The Quest

This isn’t survival training, or therapy. Nor is it a holiday. It’s something in between, stepping into a different kind of time and space. A shared adventure where we’ll explore questions that matter:

Who am I becoming?

How do we build genuine connection?

What can nature teach us about resilience?

How do young people create meaningful change in the world?

For a week we will be co-creating a temporary community camping in a forest meadow, and you will be invited to explore what is ‘up’ in your life, as we guide you in preparing for a 24 hour solo fast in the middle of the week. Leaving behind food, human company, and enclosing shelter to meet yourself and the living world more intimately, before returning to our human community to share your story.

We don’t know what will happen in that 24 hours. Only that the experience will stay with you long after you’ve gone home.

Around the Fire

The magic and medicine of our experiences is often only revealed when we share it with others. Live, unfiltered, raw, and real. No phones, no cameras, no highlight reel. Just the people gathered in the place we are in, listening, sharing, learning, and connecting.

Here you’ll meet people with different languages, cultures and stories. You might arrive knowing nobody. You’ll likely leave carrying friendships that stretch across Europe, and feel more in touch with your own life story, and the wild web of the living world.

Who Is This For?

You don’t need outdoor experience. You don’t need to be super confident. You don’t need to have all the answers. You only need curiosity, and a little courage.

Whether you’re searching for adventure, community, inspiration, or simply a break from ordinary life, you’re welcome here.

Your Invitation

The world doesn’t change because people stay comfortable. It changes because ordinary people decide to explore, connect, and imagine something better. For one week we’ll create a community unlike everyday life. We’ll learn from the land. We’ll learn from one another.

And perhaps, somewhere along the trail, we’ll discover something we weren’t expecting.

Practicals

You need to be between 18-30 years old (one group leader from each country can be 30+) and living in Denmark, France, Greece, Germany or Austria.

Participation and travel costs will be covered by the Erasmus+ funding.

This Quest takes place in the forest of Rold Skov, Denmark. Nearest train station is Skørping.

Shared bell tents are available to sleep in. But of course, you can also bring your own tent. In any case, you’ll need a warm sleeping bag.

All food will be vegetarian and is provided by us. We will be cooking together in small groups.

The wild is waiting. Will you answer the call?

Send an email to Mungo Dalglish at f0nsey.md@gmail.com if you would like to participate.

Your participation is confirmed by a deposit of 100 € through your local partner organization. The deposit will be refunded to you after the Quest.

Your guides:

Anna Nyskov Irgens-Møller:  is a gatherer of people, and a weaver of human and other-than-human communities. Anna is trained in anthropology, outdoor education (friluftsliv), nature-based rites of passage (School of Lost Borders), Ways of Council (circle work), and has worked for School of All Relations and Kaospilot. Mostly though, they have their learnings from experiences of love and loss and connection and disconnection and from engaging deeply with communities, relationships and the natural world.

Mungo Dalglish is an explorer of body-mind-earth connection. After his degree in history, he wanted to respond more directly to a human world which seemed to be increasingly fragmented, disembodied, and out of touch with more-than-human reality. So he trained in massage and bodywork (with 4Elements Company, MFR UK, and others), permaculture (with Applewood Permaculture & Karuna), and nature-based rites of passage (with Wildwise, Wild Rites & Transalquimia). In 2016 he co-founded Beech Hill: a 27-acre embodiment & ecological community endeavour in Cheshire, UK. His practices and passions include contact improvisation, the way of council, and wild swimming.

Bijan Ghaffari-Tabrizi is an experienced guide for nature-based programmes centred around the search for purpose and meaning in life. He spent some time researching human-nature connectedness in the context of mental health. He is a Psychotherapist (Gestalt Therapy) and a trained Vision Quest guide in the tradition of School of Lost Borders. His personal journey includes Climate Activism and Community Projects. Trained as a guide in Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects to hold space for people longing to create a more sustainable planet and society. www.openvision.earth
