How am I actually in contact with myself and with others? How do I notice what I need? When do I withdraw, adapt, or set a boundary?
Starting October 19, a new self-experience group begins at Praxis Orthologicum. Across six Gestalt-therapy-facilitated sessions, the focus is on perceiving yourself more clearly, recognizing your own needs and recurring patterns, and trying out new possibilities in contact with others.
This isn’t just about talking and reflecting. Through exercises, awareness work, movement, and exchange with others, you can directly observe and try out how you shape contact and what feels right for you.
How the sessions work
Each evening begins with a shared round: How am I here today? What’s on my mind? What am I noticing right now?
We then work with whatever shows up in the group.
We then work with whatever shows up in the group.
This includes:
- Exercises on boundaries, needs, feelings, and contact
- Body and awareness exercises
- Exchange in pairs or small groups
- In-depth work on individual personal concerns
At the end, there’s time to reflect on the experience and close the evening together.
Gestalt therapy focuses on what you perceive and experience in the moment: What’s happening in me right now? What do I need? How do I react to others? How do I shape closeness, distance, or boundaries? This way, familiar patterns can become clearer and new ways of dealing with situations can emerge.
You decide for yourself which topics you want to bring in and how far you engage with an exercise.
No prior experience with Gestalt therapy or group work is required.
